Farm Fresh Pasture Raised Organic Eggs & Other Goodies
Our eggs and other goodies are produced with complete attention to detail. Fresh food is so much more nutritious than mass produced food, because of the quality of ingredients and the fact that no additives are needed when they are delivered fresh within days of production.
Organic Farm Fresh EggsThere is nothing quite like farm fresh eggs from happy chickens who spend all day grazing on fresh greens, bugs, and organic feed. Not only do they taste better— they are better for you! In fact, a 2007 Mother Earth News egg testing project found that, compared to official U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) nutrient data for commercial eggs, eggs from hens raised on pasture contain (on average) 1/3 less cholesterol, 1/4 less saturated fat, 2/3 more vitamin A, 2 times more omega- 3 fatty acids, 3 times more vitamin E, and 7 times more beta carotene. All of our eggs are hand washed in a mild environmentally friendly soap solution for sanitary reasons and to satisfy health regulations. They are packed in paperboard cartons. Because they have been washed, they should be refrigerated as the natural “bloom” coating provided by the chickens has been washed away. These eggs will keep for up to 2 months in the refrigerator, but are at their best if enjoyed within 2 weeks. |

Farm Fresh Goose Eggs!Fresh eggs from our silly, happy geese who spend all day grazing on fresh greens, and organic feed, chasing chickens around our pasture, and loudly honking whenever anyone comes near. A single goose egg is the equivalent of 2-3 chicken eggs. They are very rich tasting and splendid in omelettes and prized for baking. For a rare and exciting treat, try deviled goose eggs! Drill small holes in the top and bottom of each egg and blow out the contents and you will have a wonderful, strong egg shell for decorating! All of our eggs are hand washed in a mild environmentally friendly soap solution for sanitary reasons and to satisfy health regulations. Small Batch PreservesThe enjoyment of fresh fruit can be so fleeting. Some fruits are only harvested for a few weeks per season and then they are gone. The time honored tradition of preserving this fresh goodness into sweet spreads while the fruit is at peak ripeness has all but fallen by the wayside in favor of mass produced, cheap supermarket jams. Fortunately small farms like us and home canners are keeping the tradition alive. Limited batches made each year while the fruits are ripe! |
